Dragon Age: Origins is a new RPG released November 3. I've got maybe 10 hours (or more) in it. Its very good, if one likes RPG. The developer, Bioware, stresses "story" and meaningful interactions with people. It has more spoken "dialog" and back and forth interactions than any RPG yet. And, difficult moral dilemmas -- with no exactly right or wrong answer. You can be who you want to be -- and suffer the consequences. Outstanding emotive and facial animations -- outstanding lip syncing. Loads of hack & slash and magic action. Romantic action, if you want it. A unique deep story with many twists and turns so far. Not a normal RPG, so far Thing is: I got 2 "blue screens" and several "crashes" directly to reboot so far. Never had any of those with any game or application on Windows 7 RC or Windows 7 HP -- so, I blame the game. Save often. Just a heads up.

What's the stop code?
I have been playing it for 2 or 3 days now... Not a single crash or BSOD yet.

Thanks for the ideas.
I did not check the codes at the time. I just rebooted, restarted, kept playing.
Frankly, I don't actually know what the vast majority of codes mean -- unless they have a note or indication in fairly plain English. If I have another stoppage, I'll make the note and report back -- in case a guru might know what do do.
Meantime, I installed the DA patch (I read it breaks DLC, but I have not installed DLC yet). So far no crashes in a couple hours of play, but I simply may not have been in the right situation yet.

Update:
After the patch, I had fewer blue screens and hangups per hour (a couple -- maybe 1 every 3 hours?).
One poster on another board indicated he believed nearly all such hangups are "hardware" to an extent. So, I undid my overclock -- back to 3GHz. I do know that my specific CPU has one "weak" core which limited my overclocks. I thought, maybe, DA:O is stressing that core.
With the overclock gone, I have not had any blue screens or lockups. But, it is too soon to be sure that won't happen.
Still, DA:O is the only game or application that has this problem with my hardware.
