Good Day to all,

Need a little assistance and/or recommendation on 5.1 (True 5.1) headsets. I've been using my GameComm Pro 1 for more than 4.5 years with no problems (USB). I've always "hated" their virtual surround and discomfort (On ear), bass response is good but not great; and did I mention, truly uncomfortable.

Fast forward to today's technology. I mostly play Arma II, LOCKon FC/Black shark, F4AF, SF2 WOI Flight sims and the Driving sims (Race on, rFactor, etc).

I watch some movies on my pc, which has a SB Audigy Fatality X-fi card (PCI optical/spdif in/out)

So I'm looking for a "True" 5.1 surround sound headset. I've researched for a while now, and have a $200 budget (Less is better). I'm considering the following sets and would like owners to chime in with their opinions and recommendations.

Triton AX Pro ($159)
Psycho's 5.1 (list price of $300)
Astro A40's (list for $250 but, I can get them for $200)

SPecs: AMD 955, 6 gig ddr3, Vista 64.

It's not on your list, but within your price range (with money to spare):

My thoughts on it can be read here:

Logitech has a surround sound headset (G35) too. It is a little cheaper.

On a side note, Psyko just moved into the building I work...I wonder if I can get some freebies...

This may not answer you question directly, but I've used 5.1 headphones in the past, and since you own an X-Fi you have the option of usin' the CMSS-3D feature, which w/ a good pair of headphones (I use a pair of Sennheiser's!) sounds much more convincing than just usin' "5.1" headphones! Just select "Headphones" usin' the mixer and select "5.1" in-game and your good to go!
