I have the Aerosoft Catalina. Great aircraft...it's very detailed, and it flies great. My only problem was that my engines killed halfway through a flight...both about 10 seconds apart from each other. I managed to land in a river, but I still don't know the cause of it. Other than that, excellent aircraft!

JetGuy, the Cat is finicky.. esp watch your engine temp which you control mostly with the cowl flaps but also of course by prop pitch (RPM)..

Also there is a decent mission set available (ours) via Sim-Market or Pilotshop.. have fun smile

Thanks, Combat! I'll definitely be sure to pay attention to the temps. It's not something that's typically at the top of my mental list, honestly...but you learn something new everyday, and learning new things is the key to being a better pilot. I'll definitely look into those mission packs as well. Thanks!

I'm trying to get my FSX back up and running. However. before I encountered my ltest issues , I enjoyed flying the Cat and the in stock "Goose" on short hops around Hawaii and Florida.

Oh, I love ambphibians... Bill Lyons' S.43 and Goose for FS9, the Pilot's B314 Clipper for FS9, now the Catalina... I wish a good Do-24 or Do-18 were made (A2A/Accusim quality preferably).

If you fly the FSX Goose be sure to get the Hi-Def cockpit for it from aussiex.org

thanks mate, I'll check it out! I am thinking that a mission set with options for the PBY, Albatross, or Goose might be interesting..

Now if A2A would do an Accusim Sunderland...oh, I'd buy that!
