1: RAH-66 cockpit texture bug. When looking into the cockpit from the external view the cockpit floor textures show up as red and white lines. I thought I remember a fix for it back before I stopped playing but I can't really remember. Anybody else have this problem? Anybody know a fix?
Yeah I've seen a solution mentioned. I think it was something about a missing fire extinguisher texture or something like that. Possibly just for desert camo. Try searching, I don't remember the details.
3: I also have a problem of the missions not ending when I land. So when I end the mission through the map I go back and look at the helo I was flying and it's just sitting there, engines on, rotors spinning, like the mission never ended.
It's not supposed to end automaticly. Press Ctrl+Q to end the mission.
4: UH-60's on strike missions. When they get to the target area they take cover and start to bob-up and get ready to engage like usual, but they don't engage. They act as if they no longer have AGM-114's (even though its still shown on the helicopter) or like they are not able to fire them (like they have no radar, which if I remember the helicopter doesn't have radar anymore with the latest build but that may be what is causing this AI problem).
They don't have AGM-114s anymore (even if they're still in the 3D model), just rockets. And they don't have radar, though i doubt that is the problem for AI.
So they just sit there..bobbing up and down from behind cover...saying "seeking firing position" over and over and over again.
That's obviously not supposed to happen. Will have to debug it when I get back home, as I can't say what is the problem until I see it.
5: Also I think helicopters on recon missions need to become a little more concerned about avoiding the enemy. It would be cool if there was a way to make the computer program the waypoints based on a route that avoids undue enemy contact, or waypoints that allow the AI to fly map-of-the-earth, staying behind mountains and trees lines as to avoid direct contact with enemy SAMs. I see way to many OH-58's (a helicopter that I would think would do anything it can to avoid enemy contact) start to engage SAMs and get blown the hell out of the sky.
I agree that better AI would be nice. But chosing a good route to follow is a non trivial problem, and the current algorithm isn't that bad all things considered.
I think maybe a bigger problem is that the AI has no sense of self preservation, they will keep fighting until they die instead of realising when they're in an impossible sitution and retreat.
