Yes but consider the magnitude of the game. Sheesh. One of a kind. Maybe he wants it to be as good as it can be.

You are right but it would be not the first game that is hyped by its fans and ends up a rotten tomato.
Since the beta testers are under NDA there are no first hands experiences and with JMM its always "somthing" either he has to make some adjustments, his pc locked up, or he was tired/sick.
I know its a one-man-show but i canīt stand stupid developers who are making big announcements they canīt comply. I wounder why he didnīt simply keep his mouth shut.
Now itīs tomorrow, canīt wait for the sheepish excuse why the demo will not be out then.

Didnīt really expect ETW beauty here, but those 3d graphics are really hard to bear at the end of 2009.

Yeah it would be cool to have a game like HWLG only with the graphics of Napoleon: Total War(Sequel to Empire: Total War)

I also just found out why the AI in Empire: Total War was so craptacular, the lead AI dev of many years left CA when ETW was still in early development, basically they lost the most experienced AI coder they had ever had, that's a huge blow.

Anyway, downloading the demo now, gonna enjoy trying it out, maybe hunting some bugs/glitches.

I was very dissappointed, didn't get all that much time to play the game itself, but the horrendous UI really ruins things for me.

I find that even ASCII games have more pleasing UIs than HWLG.

He honestly should have gotten someone to help him with making a good and intuitive UI and not something that feels like it belongs in a wargame from the early 90s..

the demo is out. It seems to be getting fair to good player comments overall. Their are a lot of statements about the demo appearing rough around the edges and needing more work and being prepared for the Napoleonic grognard! I may check it out if a newer user-friendly demo is released next month. If JMM can pull it off it sounds like there may be a good Napoleonics game on the market.
I guess it can't be any worse than the CMSF release! LOL
