She is from Bad Blankenburg. The nearest "big" city is Erfurt. The bigger towns around her are Rudolstadt and Saalfeld. I've been there a few times, even got married in Bad Blankenburg, its a pretty area. I haven't been to Leipzig yet.

When will you arrive? If you arrive on/before 11/11, be at exact 11:11 AM hrs at the known places for the beginning of carnival (center, ask anyone there). Its short, but the whole (center) town is partying. Lots of kölsch, which is nice, but be warned, very small glasses. The opposite of the Biergarten-Maß.

Even travelled there some times to enjoy this, really a lot of fun, insane amounts of ppl drinking, having fun, almost ever pub overfilled but always enough space to still get in.

Only if this partying stuff is your cup of Kölsch, off course...
