Strangest thing happened to me yesterday night on T&T.

For some reason, I feel like playing Central for a change, so I hop onto the Opposite side and grab a Fokker. One of them snappy striped DVIIs. It's a plane I have little experience with, so I'm being extra careful while looking out for enemy contacts.

Now I'm passing the line and in the distance, circling around an enemy observation balloon, there's this lone SPAD. I figure it'll take a while for him to spot me, but sure enough, moments later he starts flapping his wings left and right.

As you can imagine, I think he's executing some odd maneuver to better position himself in relation to me. Until, in fully zoomed-in view, seconds before reaching firing distance, he still has his plane perpendicular to mine and I can clearly see the enemy pilot waving.

Obviously at this point, I suspect some sort of trap being sprung around me. Without hesitation, I open fire, badly damaging his plane, which disappears below, out of sight.

I brace for the inevitable moment when his buddies jump out of the clouds and eat me raw... but nothing happens.

Completely dumbstruck, I return to base, finish the mission and try to shrug it off as best I can. At least I got a kill for it.

Anyhow, I switch sides again. I jump into my trusty Noop 28, and start happily buzzing my way to the front line.

Until, well, basically the same thing happens.

This Central plane appears well below me, flying in wide casual circles, almost as if he's watching the clouds and enjoying the scenery instead of worrying about getting bounced. So I blip down on the poor fellow, line him up in my sights, dead sure that the enemy pilot hasn't seen me. My trigger finger is itching for the kill.

...until I see the hand go up again. A gentle casual wave.

I absolutely freak out, thinking that I must once more be dealing with some kind of hidden tactic to catch me by surprise. I violently open fire, completely miss my intended shot, spraying bullets all over his wings. Still, the damage is considerable enough to force him to ground. I don't follow him down.

Sure enough, nothing else happens. He was seriously just... waving at me.

I make my way back to base, finish the mission, take a shower and curl up in bed against my wife.

Masaq, what was wrong with your bloody pilots yesterday?

Yep, I put the hand signals on my X52Pro's hats.

Don't assume that's my thumb I'm extending at the end of my arm.
