Excuse me while I dip a toe in here.. biggrin

I've loaded up the 4.09m patch and it is incredible. How much fun is that darn SM.79! Wow..

Anyway - after reading the 4.09m readme file I see that they have listed Skin Credits to various people. My question is - how do I know whose skin I'm using when I select different skins from the QMB? I mean, some of the aircraft have a dozen or more skins..how do I know who made what? I'm writing an article and I'd like to give proper credit to the proper artists.. smile

Thanks! thumbsup

Well, I'm just making sure. For instance - the Bf 109 G-2 (Germany) has a default skin but there are also 20+ other skins selectable in the QMB. I was just wanting to make sure that the skin listed as the "default" in the QMB is indeed the skin authored by those people listed in the readme.

That covers the new, updated default skins for some of the original FB models. I think Beach may be inquiring about the textures for the newest aircraft like the Avia B-534-IV, Fokker D.XXI and
SM.79, since the modelers/skinners aren't credited in the Readme_4.09m.rtf document?

I just realized I haven't yet dowloaded the new 4.09m skin pack. I must rectify this...

Thanks Skycat - you actually bring up a good point. The big 4.09m PDF file doesn't actually list who the members of Team Daidalos are, who contributed what (skins, cockpit modeling, 3D models, maps)..so it makes it tough to figure out who the men behind the curtain are.. wink I'd just like to credit these guys for a job well done. I've got a couple questions in to Martin who might be able to steer me in the right direction.

On another note..since I've been playing so much IL-2 for this article I'm having a blast with this sim. The IL-2 Type 3M is like an ancient brother to the A-10..what a fun aircraft to fly!

BTW - Does anyone have any single mission scenarios that showcase the MBV-2 in action? I'd love to see that thing firing. I'm still clueless how to work the FMB...

Regards..

Beach,

My install is relatively fresh and doesn't have any extras like addons or downloaded skins, missions or campaigns yet. I took a quick look at the Bf109E in QMB and most or all of the optional skins (ie, the ones titled with "$" in front of the names) were added by the Slovakia DGen campaign that was included with the Aces Expansion Pack. That was a user-made campaign that included most of the Bf 109 series; Jurinko's name comes to my mind as a contributor but I think it was a collaborative effort. I think you'll many of the loose skins for various aircraft were added by AEP or Pacific Fighters to support the campaigns.

Many of the aircraft in the original FB had extra, uncredited skins included, presumably for multiplayer use. The P-51D came with about four extra skins when it was first made flyable back in 2003.

It looks like you sorted out your original question though. smile

This is the best clue I can give to you.

With his tutorials you will learn the basics of the FMB and you can work from there.
Most of them are video tutorials less than 10 minutes long.
