Douglas Dauntless as the A24B. This one was based at Papua, New Guinea 1942-3. It is from the 8th Bomb Squadron "The Grim Reapers", 3rd Bomb Group.

Did you try a Japanese fighter camo with bare aluminum shining through in different amounts - fading to the tail or vice versa?

Iīve read in an article that the Japanese didnīt mind the extreme fading of their camos but they appreciated it producing the effect deliberately. Added a lot to their camouflage breaking the contours of their planes additionally

And bare aluminum did not corrode - the US proved this in late-war
