July 4th air show and I just posted this .....

Binghamton NY Link

1. Wing walker Carol Pilon flown by Rob Holland

2. West Coast Viper team

3.

4. Harrier Demo was awesome, they went up after a passing downpour which allowed some awesome shots when he landed, although a tad dark.

5. Wished they would have flown this, but they said it didn't have the power of the other one. nope

6. Bert JATO launch

7. Blues

8. Break

9. Solo

10. Cool little Whirly bird

Not a huge military showing for static but the lighting was great. 6 hour drive out and back was a little rough though.

thanks for looking thumbsup

The Harrier's are awesome! Love the paint schemes. Not really sure what to make of the last one... Single engine air crane? ...mini air crane?

Again, brilliant shots, Dave. Love the Harrier stuff. From what I've heard, they're going to stop doing the JATO launches for shows, so that may be one of the last shots of it you'll get.

It's a Kmax. Originally built by Kaman to compete for the Navy's Vertrep contracts (and maybe other things, I can't remember). They ended up using them for a while in the late '90s as a contract, day/VFR only Vertrep platform on the USNS ships but then were dumped by the Navy.

I was onboard a FFG in '96 when one loaded us up. Very small, but could lift plenty on each pallet.

Great pics, by the way.

Aside from the paint what is the difference in the Harriers? Are they putting new engines in them or soemthing?
