So what did you guys and gals think of the "V" pilot episode that aired last night on ABC?

I thought it was pretty good. Not great, but good. 8 out of 10. I thought the first 10 minutes were great. I thought the scene with the pilot coming down in the chute was very strange/surreal.

I thought it was pretty good, maybe 7 out of 10 in my opinion. It seemed like things happened a little too quickly, where the Visitors arrive and they suddenly have all these devotees and programs, but maybe I missed something.

There were definitely some good scenes, but I'm not sure I should go into too much detail to avoid spoilers for anyone else reading this who hasn't seen it.

Yes, I think it went from the obvious crazy and amazing aspect of their arrival to acceptance a little too quickly. But it was only an hour long pilot so that no doubt had an effect.

I'd also give it a 7 out of 10. I found it good enough for me to want to watch the next episode. I've learned that you really should give new tv shows a chance and watch a few episodes before deciding whether or not its worth sticking with.

I recognized the female lead, Elizabeth Mitchell, but had to look her up on IMDB to figure out from where. It was from what I think is the best scene in a movie called "Running Scared." Overall that movie was OK, but the scene with Elizabeth Mitchell in it was pretty intense.

In 45 minutes the show implied that V's were responsible for the Iraq war, the N1H1 virus, terrorism...and they bring the most terrific of menaces....universal health care!!

No mystery, no suspense (I know...already people know they are lizards)... just a plot twist that really got me off guard... but overall it felt rushed.

Overall I thought it was a good start to this remake. I thought they moved it along really fast, it's like they think this show won't do well and don't want to do a little more character development and story building smile

The SciFi channel replayed the original 'V' last weekend.

The new 'V' just doesn't hold up - even as a re-make.

I missed it! Going to have to catch the episode on the internet. I think they put it up Fri.
Hope this is done well, but it's hard to imagine ABC doing sci fi for some reason, much less with a proper budget these days.

The original V had some of that 1980's cheese factor BUT at least the characters were more interesting than what I've seen of the new V so far.

I guess because it's a remake they may not feel they need to build suspense, but that was a big part of the first one, how we slowly discovered what the visitors really were and that they weren't nice. In this one, we know it all up front, so it's just a matter of seeing how they deal with it. That could still be entertaining, but it's missing a part that I think made the first one interesting.

Not bad. Interesting to see Kara Thrace's daddy as the FBI boss.

Just read online that "Dollhouse" was officially cancelled by Fox so that's one less sci-fi show to watch on tv now.

This reboot of V will not be like the reboot of BSG. Using some of BSGs actors won't make it so either....unless they pull a bunny out of the hat in the next 2 episodes...

Okay so 4 eps in and I have to rescue this thread? You guys are slacking.

Click to reveal..
So I was pretty much nonplussed for the first two eps. It felt like they were in a rush to shoehorn in all the "setup" plot points so they could get to the episodic content as expeditiously as possible. Not nearly as enthralling imho as the way the original unfolded. Still, eps 3 and 4 have been decent enough and established a few plots that could be interesting that I have not written it off yet. And I am, of course, interested to know what they have devised for the V's endgame. I think if they take too long before revealing the endgame and taking the show to a larger conflict with the resistance it could get old quick.

I like it. I am not super impressed yet but Scott Rosenbaum is now the show runner and he has written some great stuff for THE SHIELD and CHUCK. So, I look forward to his vision when the show returns in March.

Awe, I loved the original series so will be interesting to see how this one pans out...BUT...please for the love of allah, dont let it suffer from Lost Syndrome (tm) where the damn show is strung out so long you will be dead by the 37th series!
