I did allright, I think. First, installed a clean 1946 from DVD (tested and worked OK) and them patched to 4.09m - no mods duh. When the game started it crashes at 5%! Can't figure out what's wrong!

Did you patch to 4.08m before going to 4.09m? Out of the box, 1946 is ver 4.07.
