A few of us have already been flying 1.28C online earlier today via GameRanger, and it was great fun. For me it as great to be playing EAW again instead of developing exes or packaging scenarios for 1.28C. So if you have got 1.28C installed then install GameRanger if you need to, then log in and check for 1.28C games running. It's almost 11 pm here in Adelaide and USA Central time is 6.30 am, so my late mornings and early afternoons would nicely overlap USA evenings. The only problem with GR is that it does not run on anything before XP, but conversely it make access to online flying really simple. Do not worry about your flying skills, most of our games are co-operative and not adversarial. Jel

If I have the legendary garbled screen in 1.28C, I assume I cannot fly with you?

CJ has the latest 1.28C source code is working on the 1024 x 768 version which fixes the garbled screen on some PCs. We will obviously post a link to package as soon as it is available. Jel

Running on Vista32, radeon 3850. No intro video (just sound), and all menu screens are garbled. If I am clicking like an idiot everywhere, and lucky enough, I can get to the 3d flying part, thats more than perfect, making the issue worse. ;-)

That is strange. I have Vista 32 and a Radeon 4600 card and no problems other than the garbled map screen. Vista is blissfully unaware that I have EAW as the EAW folder is copied and was never installed. Does vanilla 1.2 run on your PC?

Sounds like a driver problem.
I had the damaged screens with older drivers on my Radeon HD 2600 Pro.
Greetings,
Knegel

I do not know. I just dig up the disk (having good memories), as I read about 1.28C. Copied the files mentioned in the install note, run the install, and thats it. Tried to install the original, but had errors already with the setup.exe.

You do not need to install EAW. Copy the disc to a new folder then follow the instructions to install 1.28c.

You do not need to install EAW. Copy the didc to a new folder then follow the instructions to install 1.28c. Yeah, I know, that was the first install, no joy. I just wanted to try out the vanilla. Driver is up to date (catalyst 9.10) Thanks guys, I really appreciate your help, and I wont give up.

You might try Mr. Jelly's latest JIM--- a fix for bad screens, Staniol. I know how frustrating it is not to get the $%!@#$% game going when you want to play.
I believe Jel has a link in the 1.28c release thread.

Thanks Wudpecker,
Jim is working fine, and finally I am able to fly missions. Its truly amazing how this title has been improved without loosing fun factor. Sometimes I am tired of concentrating in IL2, and EAW is just the perfect balance for me in fun and realism.
Thanks for the help, and I will wait patiently for a new dirver or patch, so I can enjoy this in whole. Or, try to de-garble the screens using my brain. I really love to fly online, and never tried EAW.
