Is there any way to get RB3D working using openglide and 64bit Vista? Missions load and play out but CTD when trying to access menus afterward.

I know I had it working some time ago.

I tended to use a CD with an old installed copy of the game on and copy it across to whatever I was playing on at the time.

Have you the ability to do this?

I'm not quite sure if I understand?

Are you asking if I have a copy of the game on CD? The answer to that is yes.
Copy it across? Do you mean copy it onto the HD of the computer that I'm using?

Just to clarify, I CAN get this to work in DirectDraw just not in Open Glide.

Were you using Open Glide on your 64 bit OS?

Sorry if I'm coming across as a bit duh this morning smile

Sorry I was not making sense, its one of those things where when you know what your trying to say it makes perfect sense, to anyone else. Gobbledegook!

I have an old XP install copied as a vanilla install to a CD, all I do is drag(copy) it over to my new machines then viola! I have a local copy on my vista 64 machine.

As for Open Glide yes, I juts used one of the emulators, I cant remember which, I had a look round, I think I went for one on Polovskis page, though it may be the one with the RD first aid kit I ended up using, it ran well, fast and in a very high res.

Sorry I cant be much more help, I have just upgraded to windows 7 and havent put it on yet and done need to right now as OFF is satifying my flying needs.

Let me know if you need any more help, not that I am much use

No luck I'm afraid frown

I've tried everything I can think of and the conclusion I have come to is that GlideWrappers are not compatible with 64 bit systems.

Hi Smosh,

Check this tread out on wov, Cameljock's glide2x.dll worked perfectly for me, no wrapper required, I assume the coding has been done inside the dll.

Cheers

Thanks for the link.

I don't know why but when I put this in my RB directory and choose Glide as an option the game still plays in DD.

Will let you know how I get on after a bit more inspection.
