Hi all! New IL-2 movie. Sorry if the translation is not exact. Best regards! ------ During the great Soviet offensive of 1944 the Soviets tried to finish the war against the Finns, once and for all. The Germans came to aid the Finns and among the material brought with them was the AA-cruiser Niobe, which was ordered to strengthen the air defences of Kotka, then one of the most bombed cities of Finland. The Soviet Union put much emphasis on finding and sinking the Finnish coastal defence ship Vainamoinen. Soviet aerial reconnaissance spotted a large ship in the Kotka harbour and decided to attack it with great strength. 132 bombers and fighters took off on July 16, 1944. The ship was however the Niobe and the aircraft were met with fierce resistance. The ship was hit by 13 bombs and two bouncing bombs from two Soviet A-20 Havoc bombers. --- Video:http://files.mail.ru/41DQOW - Eng http://files.mail.ru/OP6I76 - Rus Time: 11.54 min Size: 340 mb --- View online at mail.ru--- SoundTracks:http://files.mail.ru/JODHGVSize: 55 mb

Great movie, very nicely done. Was she sunk? What were the Soviet air losses during the raid? I think the film only shows one A20 going down. Was there any air opposition? I cannot speak or read Russian, so excuse me if these facts are covered in the film's titles. What little I have read about Finnish anti-aircraft gunnery was that it was very accurate, comparable to German flak. The A20s, though Soviet flown, were designed and built in the US.

Thank you for your opinion. Have you watched the English version? According to various sources of loss of the USSR - one A20G, according to the Finnish side - the losses were great. USSR supplied under Lend-Lease A20.

I streamed it from the website.
Best IL2 video I have seen.
I can appreciate the planning and the time taken to get all those shots just right. Excellent work and a great choice of music.
Can you let on what camera software you used?

Can you let on what camera software you used? I think he meant the "video capture software" you were using. In other words, how did you record the movie on your pc? [Edit: Sorry, Ninelives! Putting words into your mouth!]

How did you get the shake effects and hand held camera effects then?

I used Fraps, to capture video from the game, then the received file is processed by the program Virtual Dub to another codec. I worked in the program Adobe Primiere 2.0. The effect of shaking used in the program Premiere. Total volume of files captured from the game received more than 100 gigabytes. These files are maintained until the last moment.
