Thanks for your excellent work Patrick!

I have a question about post mission reports. I'm wondering about the status of the other pilots in my flight. If one of them was shot down but i didn't witness it, and don't change their status, do they stay active?

Also, would there be a way to add a simple note pad to this AAR page? It would be cool to be able to note a map grid or the details of a kill.

Thanks! S!

What happens post mission depends entirely on what you report. At the moment I do not have any way to read an actual RoF missionresults file. Working on it but that might be awhile.

Thanks for the reply. I've found this post mission reporting requirement to be an immersion enhancer. It forces me to pay attention to what is going on with the other a/c in my flight. The only tricky part is seeing who got a kill when the fur starts flying.

As for my own records, I still think it would be cool to be able to write a few details as an AAR.

Hi Pat,

I have a suggestion if you permit me:

It's very nice to have overcast missions, but it would be great to set some kind of a lower limit to the cloud level, because I've flown missions where I was in the clouds as soon as I left the ground. It would have been highly unlikely to fly in such a dud weather.

Pat,

I've been playing nothing but your campaign for the last few weeks, and I have a few ideas:

Would it be possible to include ground attack missions, and bomber escorts/intercepts? All I have is high alt offensive/defensive/front patrols, which are great, but you could make it even more immersive with those.

I'm flying with 60th squadron, june-july 1918, and all I can see are fokker DVIIs. No other plane types frown

How come I can't transfer to 56 sqn after McCudden's death?
Why are there 3-4 flights of fokkers when I set "base central planes" to 1 and random flights to 1 as well?

Thanks,
Greg

I would like to see more kills of my squad members when they don't fly with me.
Look at this

Looks pretty darned good to me. Two aces plus several other pilots with victories - not bad. Aces were very rare. Five victories was the mark of a truly top notch pilot. Many pilots flew for months without scoring.

In the game, AI pilots have to be developed. Their skill level goes up as they gain victories and fly missions. For "out of mission" results their odds of scoring improve and their odds of being killed decrease. Just like the real aces, they get better over time.

Reflected: I do want to add more ground action but it will take time. Lots to do to make that happen. Escorts for both sides are also a priority. Intercepts do happen, although I list them as CAP missions. They are really more of an intercept than a CAP.

You should be able to command 56th after McCudden's death. I tested that aspect and it should work, but there could be an issue there. I'll look at it.

Flying with the British at that time in that place you will see a vast majority of D.VIIs. Pfalzes tend to fly a bit further south near the Marne and Verdun. In June of 1918 Pfalz D.XII are not yet at the front and Fokker D.VIIfs are a bit rare. The Germans aggressively replaced older Pfalzes and Albatros with the D.VII, so it will be everywhere.

Right now a squadron will fly the newest planes available. Mixing types is something that I do not yet have down. I could do a better job of transitioning the German squadrons a bit more slowly. That would give you a bit more variety.

The Allies, as far as I am aware, did not mix types. When a squadron upgraded it was pulled, trained, and then brought back on line completely equipped with the new type. The Germans did mix quite alot, keeping their units at the front and equipping on the fly.

Scramble and balloon cover flights are not included with those parameters, so there can be extra flights if scrambles and balloons are enabled.
