Bandy, my guess is you were simple unlucky. I reported it to Pat, and it seems this has come up in earlier versions too, but unless it's regularly I really don't mind.

Excellent.

Are you getting .mlg or .blg type results.
It doesn't work for me, just the usual txt files

I am just getting the text files, but they are enough ... maybe. One oddity: AType=3 is a victory. Based on my tests it looks like AID is the victim while TID is the victor. I am seeing AID=-1. What does that mean?

Hi Patrick,

AID -1 is usually contact with ground, or wings coming off. You have to look back up the log to see who put the last bullets into an aircraft to see who the victor is.

BTW: I only use the chatlog to capture pilot deaths - you probably won't need that for offline campaigns.

Hello All

I play RoF exclusively Single Player OnLine. I cannot seem to get LParser to work on my collection of Log Files. Is this utility just for Multiplayer?

It seems LParser no longer works.

The Binary logs are no longer written only the txt files.

Maybe you can help then. I flew a mission. I landed successfully. Debrief showed one victory.

These are the logs related to my pilot.
T:0 AType:12 ID:437247 TYPE:Albatros D.Va COUNTRY:501 NAME:Leutnant fw test PID:-1
T:0 AType:12 ID:438271 TYPE:Common Bot COUNTRY:501 NAME: PID:437247
T:100116 AType:3 AID:-1 TID:437247 POS(236101.516,694.384,64659.910)

How do I interpret this? Is TID the victor or victim? If I am the victor then it matches the actual results - 1 victory. But why -1 for the victim? If TID is the victim then that seems all wrong, as this would mean that I crashed.

Sorry if I'm being dense. Thanks.

If you scrape a wingtip or ding the prop on landing you'll get a message like that, also running out of fuel, overspeeding the engine etc. The criterion for the AType:3 message is anything that renders the aircraft unflyable, not whether you've been 'killed'.

TID is "Target ID", ie. the victim. Is there another AType:3 somewhere in the log? That would be the victory you recorded. If you want to send me the concatenated log file, I'll see if I can parse it for you.

BTW, AType:10 contains the information for your pilot, AType:12 gives the spawn of the aircraft and any gunners on board - the ID's are duplicated in the AType:10 message.

hi, new to the boards, though been reading and watching for a long time. Had RoF since it first came out, lost interest in the early version for a long while then got back into it in December when i realised how much better it had got with many updates.

First off, many thanks for creating this fantastic campaign system to really bring alive the dull non immersive in-game career mode. Very pleased they have taken you onboard to improve the in-game system, credit where its very due! smile

Secondly, got a problem. Ran about 7 missions absolutely fine but then for some reason the game seems hooked on one long patrol mission and will not move forward despite completing it and creating new missions. I have tried deleting the previous mission files from data directory etc but whenever i go to missions, they are greyed out. I even created a new campaign pilot but still greyed out non-accessible mission. Any idea whats gone wrong? How do i get a new mission going?

Thirdly, as much as i love the new immersive campaign and all it entails, i really do not get the time to fly missions that take an hour plus to complete. Is there any way of reducing both the distances flown and the altitude attained in this campaign mode? I had a look through a few of the files in the RoF campaign but could not see where to reduce both factors. The time speed advance (ie 2x,4x,8x) seems to be disabled in the RoF campaign missions whereas it works fine in game.

Last but not least, i read about Jasta 5 for close proximity to the front line and that helps with distance flown but what other squadrons are also close to the front (both sides).

Many thanks in advance for any help and keep up the great work!

Winger: a question. Do you know how to determine the status of a pilot? How can I tell if a pilot has been killed? I think I know how to do the rest. Thanks for the help.

Clay Pidgeon: You can enable air starts in the configuration page to shorten mission length somewhat. I do have it in mind to do some things to make missions even shorter. The fact that compression does not work well with the missions that I generate makes a mission a considerable time commitment.

I do not know why the missions would be greyed out (I assume that you mean in the game itself). Hopefully somebody here can help.

I've used the chatlog to capture whether player pilots have been killed, for AI pilots I suspect that it's not possible with the current format of the log files.

You can determine whether they've been captured by getting the AType:6 message (where the aircraft contacts the ground) and determining whether that lies within a friendly or enemy influence area. I suspect that that's the best that can be achieved at the moment.
