Tonight... a SPECIAL EVENT SPECTACULAR!

That's right, tonight our Military Monday admin could be YOU!

Err... Because as you read in Magnum's thread, none of the admins can get on the server tonight! In my own case, it appears my ArmA2 DVD is scratched and thus the installer hangs. I've tried on two different DVD drives and two different computers, with WinXP and Windows 7.

So I've bought ArmA2 yet again, though thanks to GoGamer's 48 hour madness sale I saved about half price.

How did my disc get scratched? I can only guess from it sitting in my DVD drive full time. That's where it's been for most of it's short life of only 5 months. And the only scratches are small radials around the outside edge of the disc, where it touches the tray. They are small, I've had other discs scratched worse that still worked, but these must be "critical" scratches or something.

So next time, I will put the disc in the drawer only when I want to play.

I will be on TeamSpeak tonight, usual time 8pm to 10pm eastern. The logged in admin will be a player, he'll pick the missions too, and watch out for when it's time to call a mission DONE. We'll keep our usual standards of play and comms intact, of course.

As fatty posted, these are the basic commands for voting and server command:
To vote for an admin type in chat:
#vote admin adlabs6

When that admin wants to end the mission, and pick a new one chat:
#missions

Couldnt you just request a replacement disc from retailer/publisher ? I mean noone should have to pay more than once for a purchase.

I'm happy to avoid this headache since I bought Arma2 on Steams 50% off weekend.
Hope you get that sorted out.

Well that sucks adlabs, having to buy the same game twice due to something stupid like that. Although hearing your story makes me glad I bought mine through Steam.

I may or may not be there tonight. I've gotta work, but I should be home ~8 PM. That may give me enough time to shower and jump in for a game or two...

Sorry I didn't stay very long but I underestimated how tired I would be after work tonight. I did manage to get a few screens as spectator during the first mission however, so I'll post 'em as soon as I'm done goin' through 'em.

Oh, and an explanation for the premature exit by death while flyin' CAS. The view distance, in my opinion, is horrible for flyin' fast movers, and while attempting to dive toss a cluster of BMP's I underestimated the altitude I would need to recover. The view distance makes it incredibly difficult to setup a dive as the terrain just isn't visible above a certain altitude...

Well, that's my story anyway, and I'm stickin' to it!

I hope to be on by TT this week; I found a fairly cheap place and just have to re-arrange all my funds to pay for the first month; because for some stupid reason they don't have a Bank of America OR a US Bank...both of which I use, within a 100 mile radius; so I have to do some finagling lol

Anyways, not sure if the place I have has internet so I might have to install/pay for that too; so it's still up in the air when I'll actually be able to get on
