"Guys,

The first addon pack for OFF will be quite extensive and will include:

1) Nieuport N28
2) Nieuport N24 (Brit and French versions)
3) Nieuport N24 Bis (Brit and French Versions)
4) Nieuport N17 Bis
5) Fokker EV
6) Airco DH5
7) Extra squads and amended squads to take the above craft into account for full campaign immersion for all craft - American squads are a key point!
8) Comprehensive skin set for the above craft for full immersion in the campaigns
9) Personalised skin functionality - player can now fly with his own unique custom skin.
10) Actual Wind Buffeting effect as you fly - gets worse with the weather conditions (configurable as off or on in workshops)
11) Wind noise in every craft - speed dependent - increases with speed
12) Revised Railyards - all are now co-incident with railway tracks and with switchbacks and revised textures
13) Overhauled hi res airfield textures and revised airfield tree models
14) Revised forest and woods layouts
15) Revised autogen tree models (only when set to high terrain detail)
16) Improved mobile ground unit deployment in theater
17) Manager main menu picture now changes according to players pilot nationality.

And many minor tweaks.

Best

10) Actual Wind Buffeting effect as you fly - gets worse with the weather conditions (configurable as off or on in workshops)

I love this effect in the current version when flying through and/or entering/exiting clouds. Since the killer cloud bug was squashed a few versions back the immersion factor for me increased dramatically. So I'm very much looking forward to wind buffeting in general flight as the occasion demands. I also hope it improves the physics of cross-wind landings which needs to be beefed up a bit imho.

17) Manager main menu picture now changes according to players pilot nationality.

Thank God ! Do you know how sick I am of that ridiculous Albatros and that smarmy looking Hun !

More kites. Improved terrain. Is good.

The add-on has me very excited. It's so nice of the developers to communicate what they have been working on so hard for us. Some of these changes are driven by customer feedback and the others are a result of OBD's relentless quest for Historical Immersion in the WWI airwar experience.

Hello, good to hear !

while me personally am not so interested in the N 28s, the special "bis" types like N17 and N28 are interesting. What i especially like is ground activity, around the aerodromes and on the frontline. There is already a good deal, i only hope you guys did not also enhance AA activity, i could live without it lol.

Wind buffeting and wind noise was something i had hoped for the whole time since phase 1 !! Maybe it helps flying the Camel, dying wind noise will be a good indicator for the vicious stalling ...

The personalized skin is certainly also a nice addition.

Then i know we already have the very accurate Zeppelin L30 from Greg (?), but it would be nice to have an original OFF-Zeppelin in the sim, to be used in campaigns. I mean there were more Zeppelins built, than Fokker E.V/D.VIIIs lol. The several gun positions and navigation cabin are already usable in Greg's Zepp., only thing that it lacks is a good weight control, like dropping ballast, or venting gas. Dynamically landing of this "thing" is almost impossible (those aerodromes are much too short lol). Maybe in the next patch or add-on ? hint, hint

Looking forward, thanks !

Greetings,
Catfish

Edit Reason: not L38, make that L30 !

I'm wondering how much it will cost, but given that it's a pretty comprehensive list of additions, I think it's a must-buy for me.

And as for 'many minor tweaks' - well, they appear to have a habit of springing massively welcome and useful stuff when least expected, 1.32g is evidence for that.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for a new map (much needed), but I'm patient enough to wait for P4 for that, as I know they won't be giving up, and if they say there'll be a P4, there will be a P4.

Good communication, and very welcome news.
