As the title says. I was pretty happy with my 19" monitor, and with ArmA2, on the whole. Then, my brother gave me his newish 24" monitor because he is switching to dual slightly smallers.

Doing so has enabled me to go from 1620x1050 to 1920x1200 resolution, and this has made a big difference. Why? Because, with such a large number of pixels, I have been able to turn off antialiasing in ArmA2. Now I get frame rates that are as good as OFP:DR's, with the added benefit that ArmA2 is not OFP:DR. I have also increased the view distance by 500m, and the only cost for all of this is that distant hillsides are ever so slightly jagged. Otherwise, one cannot even notice the jaggies on anything close up or at medium range, and certainly during battle things look great and silky smooth. Also, because the monitor is larger, it is just plain easier to see things, and to be more immersed in the environment of Chernarus.

The benefit has carried over to most of my other games and applications, too, so if you are wondering how to improve the ArmA2 experience, get thee a bigger monitor, and reap the benefits not just with ArmA2, but in your entire PC experience.

Fine if you have a graphics card to support it.

As they are so cheap now I was going to get a 25 inch monitor and give my son my 22 inch one. However my monitor sits on my desk about 3 feet from me and I decided 22 inch is perfect from that distance, If I used a 25 monitor I would have to sit further from it.

I have a 22" monitor, but my graphics card can't handle better than 1024x768. So I used scaling, rather than native resolution.

But the 22" monitor blew up this week (it's second backlight failure in 3 years), so I switched to a 17" for a while.

21" monitor here. I had 17" and than 19" (4:3 ratio) and got a 21" just before Arma2 came out. It is GREAT. Now, I just got a free (yes free!!) projector that handles 1080i. It just needs an expensive and hard to find light bulb.

I cant wait to put that on my wall in my furnished basement (with full wet bar and bathroom). All I need now is a tiny fridge and a place to put a microwave and I am never ever EVER leaving that basement!

82" - Wow, that's a big...

I'm using a 27,5" monitor. Very nice for all my sims. I wish I had 3 of them though smile

I have a 24" monitor and I sit about 30" away from it. I had it for over a year and to be honest it now feels small. 30" next? Maybe an OLED one... Maybe.

Speaking of large monitors, I just got a 24 inch monitor. I cant for the life figure out what resolution to use to keep all of the icons in view on the screen. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks
