Odd difference between EAW versions

I was messing with 1.28C and it seemed that the plane I choose was much less responsive that I expected. I have the slider for stick sensitivity almost all to the left just as I have in the base, vb's version, and 1.28b. I tested all the versions out and the others were much more sensitive at that setting then C is. (I am using the same eaw.ini code in all versions). So I upped the sensitivity for C to where it felt some what the same as the others.
Any speculation on why?

Hi,
abolut nothing changed regarding this between EAW1.28b and EAW1.28c.
With EAW1.28b we changed the range of the slider so that people with Saitec sticks still can adjust theri stick by the slider. Usually Saitec users needed to edit the EAW.ini by hand, cause the stick itself is very agressive, so the smalest posible EAW1.2 slider value is still to high.
So, if you use a old EAW.ini EAW1.28b and EAW1.28c might need adjustment.
Greetings,
Knegel

Very possible I don't remember well with 1.28b as I never played it that much and at that time may have had the slider far to the right. Regardless, If I understand you right Knegel, for C I need to move the slider far more to the right than I have it in the base game - correct?

Hi,
not on my side.
I just compared the values from my EAW1.28c EAW.ini with that of an old EAW1.26e installation and they are both the same and in both games the planes perform normal(not stiff or oversensitive).
Greetings,
Knegel

Hi,
it might be somehow stick related, otherwise it depends to the used FM/DM. When i use the default EAW1.2 FM in a default EAW1.2 installation, it work with the same EAW.ini entrys, like the EAW1.28c FM in the EAW1.28c installation.
With EAW1.28 and EAW1.28a some people told they needed to change the slider setup and saitec users couldnt adjust the setting correct, cause even the smalest value was still to agressive. So with EAW1.28b we increased the max range of the stick slider, to include also the needed range for the Staitec users. As such the graphical position in the configure screen is for sure not the same, in EAW1.28c like in EAW1.2, although the EAW.ini value might be the same.
Anyway, i cant see a problem in this at all. Adjust the stick sensitivety to your need and then its fine.
Greetings,
Knegel

Uriah, there was a 1.26 and a 1.26e. Basically the same......
In 1.2, 1.26, and I believe even 1.28, having the in-game slider all the way to the left gave you a setting (Including your INI) of 0.80000. I have a Saitek X52, which is a more aggressive stick than my old Sidewinder, so I had to change my INI to 0.75000, a range the slider could not reach. The difference in 1.28b and 1.28c is that you can now get that lower setting, in-game. So the sensitivity has not changed, only the range of the slider. I think by default, the in-game setting was still 0.80000, but looks higher because there is more range to the left that you can adjust. Just look at your 'good' setting INI, and adjust accordingly. I have no complaint other than my eyes and mind did not see correctly - I was 28e not 26e as Knegel wrote. Caused me to think you coders are jumping the gun a bit when it was just silly me.
As someone said 'fly on Frodo, fly on!'
