Hey guys, new to this forum thing. Thanks for the great info above Chipwich!

I was just wondering if any of you have experienced a problem were one can load the game to the point where one should get the first menu page but all one gets is a blank screen. The music is playing and there are sounds for changing the menu options but one is not able to see anything- it is highly annoying!

I've just installed Windows 7 Ultimate and I have tried all the patches like Chipwich has so kindly posted above, but still no luck:-(

thanks in advance.

Haven't had that one Mozman, but just a thought. Have you tried different graphic settings in your RichardBurnsRally.ini file? Here is mine for reference...

Code:
Depth = 32
ForceFeedback = true
Fullscreen = true
MinDepthBits = 24
MinStencilBits = 8
ParticleQuality = low
RenderCarShadow = true
RenderQuality = high
RunIntro = false
RunStartup = false
Sound = true
UseCubicEnvironmentMaps = true
UseEAX = true
UseSoftwareAudio = false
UseTripleScreenBuffers = false
WaitRetrace = false
XRes = 1680
YRes = 1050

FYI, I just noticed that the screenshots aren't coming through. Will investigate.

Hey Chipwich,

Thank you for your reply. I did figure it out in the end. For some unknown reason, my dual monitor setup was the cause of the malfunction. I changed my settings so that I would only use one monitor and all was good. Maybe you know what the cause could be because I have no idea!?

All is good in the land of RBR- What an awesome sim :-)

Once again, thanks for the reply!

Just bought a new Mac Book Pro which means I can (theoretically) play PC sims finally! My first purchase:

The legendary Richard Burns Rally.

Now I just need to get it working!

Will RBR work OK if I just go out & buy Windows 7 & run it through Bootcamp? (I have a G25 & a Fanatec GT3 RS wheel).

I would appreciate any advice.

Chipwich - thank you very much for putting this together. It made reinstalling RBR and getting it up to date so much easier. A couple questions for you if you don't mind...

1) Maybe this has been brought up somewhere before but when I start the RSCenter2009 my anti-virus alerts me to a supposed trojan labeled "Win32/Orsam!rts". Is this indeed a valid file for RBR? This did not come up until I installed the 2009 mod and started it up.

2) Regarding the better graphics that the 2009 mod brought to RBR...can I only see them by launching the game through the RSCenter2009 or will I also benefit from them by running the game from it's original start up shortcut? Probably a dumb question I know but I have literally had this installed and patched for less than an hour and don't know anything about it. The RSCenter client looks confusing but I guess that will come with time...any tutorials on that?

3) On the rallysim site it says, "Install RSRBR 2009: Before installing the full version, please verify that you are removed from RSRBR and RBR". Not sure what that means. To uninstall RSRBR and RBR or does it mean to make sure the game is not running?

EDIT: Sorry...I now see the link you supplied to the RSCentral Tutorial. My mistake for missing that.
