Good article. I just wish they would have mentioned what firmware version Patriot needs on the Torqx series for supporting TRIM.

Basically, I think everything is in a bit of a toss up right now as to what is needed to get SSDs working smoothly -- but the foundation seems to be in place. I think by the time the next generation drives come around everything should be sorted out. At that point I'll look into upgrading.

If you are going to the most current firmware after buying one now, you should already do quite fine. Its actually the biggest unexpected side benefit of me going Win7.

Damn I wish I hadn't splurged on a Samsung PB22-J when I did. Early firmware and it would appear no chance of upgrading the firmware.
