When I try to load FSX the program does not respond and it gets stuck on the loading screen. I have found out that this is caused by a corrupted logbook.

I am new to FSX and did not really think about having to back up my logbook on a regular basis if this issue is common with FSX.

Is there a solution to fixing my logbook? I really do not want to just delete it and lose my progress with the tutorials, awards, and missions.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes it will, you may loose a couple of your flights in the posses but that's unavoidable.

The first file you list is the same one as I linked to at flightsim.com under a slightly different zip name. I believe the one at avsim is AWOL from there library, that's why I linked the flightsim copy.

The second one you list is also well worth downloading, I use it myself for things like adding takeoff airport id's for helicopter flight (one of the things FSX leaves out BTW).
Also use it if you need to delete an entry from your logbook as that's one of the things that can corrupt it if done through FSX itself.
