Just tried out a mission in my current campaign after this new update... totally different experience, the furballs are a lot more chaotic (which is a good thing) found myself ducking a few times to avoid enemy and friendly aircraft. The enemy no longer stay outside the battle but get in and stay in the fight.

The new terrain looks great too wink

Just had a quick spin in both. Dr.I marginally easier to fly in the turns, but they both need careful watching. New terrain looks good, definitely an improvement.
Blip switch works well, all I have to do now is work out when to use it for best results.

Both of these are a major tonic after my personal disappointment with the Dolphin (no biggie, I always liked the SE.5 better anyway). The Camel could oust the SE though, great fun.

No change in the Hangar, it still doesn't remember your previous settings, so the Camel has bombs by default. This has to be the next big fix - please!

cheers

For those lucky enough not to be stuck at work, any news on overall performance with 1.008?

I went from being able to apply a healthy dose of AA day 1, to 0xAA post 1.007. Would love to see if this was addressed!

Just noticed that my video memory usage is now at 93% used instead of 68% before with the same settings. interesting.
Haven't tried this game out for about two months but this patch plus Dart's AAR have inspired me. Now my only hope is that I can actually run it at all.
Oh well.

Performance is excellent for me with this patch. Great fps and no stutters what-so-ever. The new terrain looks fantastic. Not bought the Camel and Dr.1 yet but I need to wait till my wife's not looking...

..... Wow!

T&T has been updated with 1.008 and a new mission (and two slightly different variants of it) kindly donated by WWBrian.

Enjoy!

Good to see that NeoQB have done some work on various problem areas, plus the welcome release of the Camel and Fokker triplane. What are people's views on the rest of the patch? I'm aware that dogfight servers are still not there, but is there other stuff that's worthy of mention (if only by omission!)?

Could anyone with a MSFFB2 stick on Vista64 confirm that the stuttering issue has been resolved ?

Thanks. Smile2

Can't comment on the Vista64 thingy, but the new AI looks like an improvement and the new terrain textures are nice. The Camel 3D model is extraordinary. I have survived several head-on passes vs AI that preciously would have killed me on the spot. The AI don't extend as regularly as they used to and hang around to fight more. Will have to explore...

Any news on when you get your PC back?

Cheers,

Nick
