A new beta patch was released today:

[59842] Reduced town/village stutter (fixed streaming of textures used by Super shader).
[59808] Fixed: DOF in 3D scope view
[59741] Analogue throttle working for helicopters as well.
[59736] Fixed: Startup sounds are not spatial and stick to audio channels
[59715] Covering soldier in grass ("Grass layer")
[59691] Improved: Small hit be ignored by hitpoints (configurable by minimalHit)
[59668] Improved: Hitpoint can pass only a part of the hit to the total damage (passthrough setting no longer ignored).
[59446] New: IK weapon animations are now blending with primary animations.


Nice to see improvements such as performance in villages, Grass layer and analogue throttle.

What does this mean? I can hide in grass now from AI and humans?

Does this mean no more taking out tanks with MGs?

WOW, huge performance increase. No stuttering when viewing or flying over the cities or forest, very smooth. thumbsup

Not sure about AI, but yes on humans. What it does is bring back the ArmA1 distance grass layer - since the grass doesn't render at distance, the terrain is actually elevated a little bit when viewed at a distance, so anyone laying prone far away appears half-sunken into the terrain. It's a good compromise, considering the alternative (up until now) has been no grass and people sticking out like sore thumbs on bare terrain.
