For Windows XP were a lot of tools to enhance your XP or make things run better/smoother/faster...etc.
What are the best tools for Windows 7 and where to download?
Is there something like TweakUI for Windows 7, or WinBooster?
And I use XPLite to slim down my XP is there something like that for Windows 7?

Thanks in advance.
Best regards, Kodiak.

Personally, I don't trust many programs like that, even less than most scanners. The more you have trying to manipulate the OS the more likely they're going to just screw things up. Vista and Win7 are pretty customizable as it is and also are very good at prioritizing processor time. You can set priority manually if you want, but they will feature whatever app you have in your most active window (like a game) and give it preference over whatever other processes that it can.

Me too. I have been running Windows 7 RC and as of yesterday Windows 7 HP official version.

I have been letting Windows 7 do its thing without any of the tweaks I used for XP. In the last few months, I have not had any reason to want to tweak. Everything just works and works well to my perception.

All in all, Windows 7 way outshines XP for me. Still, I suppose someone who is running benchmarks may measure a difference in XPs favor from time to time.

The biggest speed burst I have both "seen" and "felt" in a long time came when I went from dual-core to quad-core. Even at the same GHz, the quad really made Vista desktop activities and program loads "pop". Windows 7 is about the same but a bit faster than Vista so far.

Of course, tweaking and overclocking and etcetera are fun and interesting in their own right. So, its not that one shouldn't do those things. Rather, I'm providing the perspective that it may be less needed than before.
