After installing UI 1.2 I expected to see many more maps when I started the game and went to quick mission. All I saw were the standard given from the disk.

So enlighten me please.

QMB+ (Quick Mission Builder Plus) was not included with UI 1.2. You will need to install this (or copy it over from another install) and add the appropriate lines of text to your game's config.ini file to see them in quick mission.
If you open the game's full mission builder, you'll see all of the new maps there.
