How does one choose a "Scramble" mission from the QMB? I can't seem to notice any options for that in the QMB.

It is under "target".

Greetings all,

I guess I must be the only one who is experiencing this, since I haven't seen any posts about it.

I'm having a devil of a time with v4.09m. I'm running in XP, IL2-1946, BoE and Ostfront. I have the latest EnjoyR patch installed. I consistently get an error msg at the end of missions. The box pops up stating "Dgen.exe has encountered a problem....". Sometimes that's the extent of it, but most times when I go back to that pilot's career to fly a new mission, the briefing screen in blank...no map, info etc...I end up having to delete that pilot and start over.

At first I thought I might have a corrupted file somewhere, but I have uninstalled and reinstalled the sim four times and it dosen't make any difference.

Any suggestions?

Cheers,
Scott

Are you by any chance using AVG Free 9.0? I had the same DGen problems after installing AVG Free 9.0.

Uninstalled AVG 9.0 and replaced with Microsoft Essentials (also free) - back to normal.

Hi Ramone43,

Thanks for the reply and yes, I'm using AVG9.0. Actually I ran across this solution yesterday in the Mission4today IL2 forums. What I did was list my UBI folder in the AVG Resident Directoy Excludes and my DGEN.exe in the Excluded files section of the Resident Directory Excludes. Flew 4 missions last night without any problems...keeping my fingers crossed.

Cheers,
Scott

Hi flieger + Ramone,
I'm hoping you guys have just saved me a re-install. I've had the same problem, and recently added AVG 9.0.
Thanks for the info.

Regards Dave.

Well....sorry to report the AVG "fix" didn't work for me after all. Last night I had the DGEN error, and again tonight. Sucks.

I'm going to try using Lowengrin's DCG with 4.09M. If that dosen't work, uninstall and reinstall again, this time only to 4.08M, and use Lowengrin's DCG.

I had a feeling the AVG fix wasn't going to work. I have a utility I use called "FSautostart". I use it to shut down all programs that are not necessary for WinXP to run before I sim. I use it with FS9, SHIII, and IL2-1946. One of the programs it shuts down before it launches the sim I have selected is AVG.

Cheers,
Scott
