The latest from Third Wire is reviewed by Chuck "PFunk" Bellows.

LOL, I still cringe every time I see the words Strike Fighters.
I'll pass.

lol, it's like in the days of the CB's and the "10-4, rollin' on". Maybe those days are still here, I don't know. But in those days, when I was on the road and had a CB dialed into channel 19, everyone sounded like they came from Arkansas. Now, I'm not dissing Arkansas, but you know the twang. And that got into SF.

"You've got a bogey on your tail!"

Oh please.

Back on topic, good review Chuck, thanks.

Hmmm, I've been tempted to try the SF2 series (I still run SFG) - this now tempts me very much.

Thanks for the nice review.

I have the 1st version of WOI and like the plane sets and gameplay. I still can't get past the speech files though that are ported over from WOV. If TK would ever get Israeli speech files into SF2:I I would purchase it.

I did purchase SF2: Vietnam even though I have been playong WOV for years. Awesome product!

You really should get this one, too, Wedge. Even if you never use the planes or fly a single campaign, the new shaders are unbelievable.

They are THAT good.

Thanks for the article. I have never tried a Third Wire product due to the various reviews I have read over the years, however, I am thinking about checking it out.

Will this version run well on Win XP? Have you tried it on Win 7?

The whole redneck voice thing does not sound at all appealing, and is actually enough for me not to buy it. I did my time in North Carolina, and am not really interested in revisiting that experience. Are there any modded soundpacks available?

I do have SF2: Vietnam and the updated pits, terrain, and overall feel of the sim is a huge improvement over the original WOV. If there is ever a mod or an update for the speech files in SF2:I I will purchase it.
