You don't have to reinstall Il2, at least I didn't after changing from Vista to W7.

U can upgrade xp to win7, however, u gotta back-up and re-install all your data/apps
I just did the Vista to Win7 and it went w/o a problem except had to reinstall Nvidia drivers (lost the control panel in the process)
Il2/HL still work!!!

No, you can't upgrade from XP to Win 7, it's not supported only from Vista to Win 7.

Windows 7/SLI/Il-2 warning;
Windows 7 has the same SLI stutter issue Vista did until the 185.85 driver.
If you are using SLI I'd be cautious about this until there is for sure a driver that works properly. It took Nvidia a year and a half to correct this issue in Vista and I don't see why they'd start getting faster now.

No, you can't upgrade from XP to Win 7, it's not supported only from Vista to Win 7. Just to clarify. You can't actually update the XP install with Win7 but you can do a clean install and use an upgrade version and use your XP disc as proof of the previous version that is being upgraded. Make sense?

Actually, the first part was a statement and the question was to ask if it was understood. You can upgrade from XP to Win7 but it must be a clean install and you have to reload all your programs again. Vista does a direct upgrade without having to do a clean install.
