GIVE ME A F@!$!NG BREAK, it's not like they will use this to teach terrorist, they use counter strike for that.

Now if it were a smashing puppy sequence, then they'd cross the line. I hope this doesnt get cut due to all the bs.

What bothers me is that some folks are more likely to feel "outrage" at this, but don't bat an eye at the actual deaths of civilians in the real conflicts going on around the world.

5000 years from now, when someone does invent a death star and blow up a planet full of people, then no, I don' think it will be in a game. Putting a nuke option in a game where you fight vs. Japan would be extremely tasteless. Reading a book isn't the same as actively doing something in a game that claims to strive to look realistic. Maybe they can put it in a school next time, hey, it's just a game right? They'll have to top it next time.
People are too willing to accept anything a developer wants to put out under the excuse that "it's just a game". I'd rather see Fight for Fallujah come out than this, at least that would put the horror in the right perspective. There are a lot of people that will actually get off on this scene is the really sad thing. That's who IW is catering to with this. I bet it sells like hotcakes in certain countries around the world due to this as well.

You are ignorant, it will not sell in those countries at all, it will be downloaded, and killing civilians doesnt get people off on most usa hating countries, they get off killing american soldiers online, must have something to do with the fact the armed forces are always the agressor, i know a friend that during our teens only liked to play as whatever anti american side in vs becouse of similar reason, me i always prefered germans and british becouse i like the gear better and the german uniform.

I will play this scene with no problem, let's see if i turn evil afterwards or start crying like a little girl.

I doubt someone will do this in a school scenario becouse developers dont have guts, i have yet to see a game where you are allowed to do violence towards kids, only one i did was shogo, i blew her into a pasta...but only becouse the sentry behind her started shooting at me and i though the girl npc was unkilllable like most games are.

I said in another thread and I will say it here. I won't get this game now. I don't have any idea what the dev was thinking in making the person a playable terrorist shooting down innocent people at an airport. It is an insult to every person who has been killed or injured or for the family members who have had to deal with the results of such actions.

For those that talked about comparing it GTA? Well there isn't much difference and I wouldn't buy that game either.

As for those that make comments about 'real world' problems. How is this kind of message going to help? I don't care what the developer says about how this shows how 'bad a guy' the antagonist is the reason for this scene is to sell copies and create controversy. There are plenty of people who will get sick pleasure from playing this scene over and over again. Trust me there will be contests to see who can kill the most civilians in the airport.

For the defenders of this gameplay element (which it is); what would you think of a game where the first scene has you as a member of the SS-Totenkopfverbände lining up Jewish civilians in front of a trench and then shooting them in the back. I mean, using this developers logic, this little scene will let everyone know how BAD the Nazis were. Hows about machine gunning Russian POWs? Better?

It is simply tasteless and disguisting and totally unneccesary. I suspect Activision will get a lot more flak than they anticipate with this. I for one hope they do.

I dont think it is any worse than GTA or many other games. Hell, in the Silent Hunter series you could torpedo cruise ships and passenger ships. You could even gun down life boats in SH4.

It is all perspective I guess. I can see why people would be upset about this but at the same time I do not agree with them.

I'm not sure they aren't looking for flak, the same publicity that other games in the past have when they cross obvious lines.
