And how did I know the first screens would be from Road America?
Yeah, I'm liking it so far. Can't wait to earn some XP and get some better cars.

no weather or night... sure wish they would add those... just had my first roll over, took some in game screens and in game video footage of it... just to test the new community features.

One of the new features of FM3... is the ability to save a video clip from 5 seconds to a minute, then upload it to your profile for download... it actually is pretty cool, and records in HD, 720p... of course uploading it to you tube or photobucket ends up download gradeing it... but good for those arguments on who had the line, and who didn't... lol Here's a video clip of my first roll over: http://s768.photobucket.com/albums/xx323...1strollover.flvSome screens using the in game capture program:

I'm disappointed, it's clearly less beautiful than GT5, and even SHIFT on PC... They sold this game with just photomode shots!

Do you even have it? Do you even have an Xbox 360? (I'm just wondering if your the same person I had a similar "disagreement" with about another 360 game, and you said you don't even have one, lol... not sure if that was you, thats why I'm asking.)
PC screens/games will always be better then console.

I saw it in demo in a video game shop... like I said, really disappointed, doesn't have the WOW's jaw dropping effect I had when I saw GT5P and GT5 gameplays and replays. Even Shift on my PC is far more impressive for the realistic global lighting and shadows of the game and the environment.
That been said, I'm sure it's a very good simulation, no question about it, but graphically-wise, it's not that great during the gameplay. That's my (humble) point of view...

I played NFS:Shift. It should've been called NFS:Sh!t. Awful game. Sure, it's pretty. But that's all. The AI is so bad it's like driving with all the a-holes from online. I don't care how good it looked, the gameplay sucked IMHO.
I haven't played GT since A-Spec for the PS2. Great game. But it didn't have damage modeling back then, which was disappointing. I know GT5 has it and the game looks gorgeous from the videos I've seen. But, I think Forza3 is gorgeous too. I was playing a race replay video last night and my daughter thought I was streaming video from a real race.

@ LeemzHQ, Too bad you didn't like it, with mods (AI and physics) SHIFT (on PC) really shines. Being a professional graphic designer, it was just my opinion when I saw the F3 demo on a HD screen in the shop: the gameplay visuals are far from the photomode marketing they used to sell their product... Just a slight improvment from F2 but not really up to date with other racing games. To conclude I would say that this is not the game that would make me buy a console. If I just want a racing simulator, I can stay on my PC. GT5 in the other hand seems to be awesome... When 2 years ago, GT5P was already amazing (this famous jaw-dropping effect on your face) concerning the realistic feel visuals, I waited MUCH BETTER from 10turns:

Yep you are correct... those PC images are better then the consoles... But I don't argue that fact, I know it's true...
As for the Shift vs FM3... well I'll be posting about that later...for the end of the year comparacion... but when I compare them they will be 360 vs 360 vs 360... because comparing the 360 graphics to a high end PC is apples and oranges.
And I don't have a problem with someone saying "the graphics aint as good as.... so and so... because" but I do have a problem with someone posting one liners like "that looks like poop", "that sucks", or "so and so is so much better". Especially when that person don't even own or play games on a Xbox 360... or is a fanboy of the PS3 or whatever... not saying thats you, just in general.

Forza is more about maximum frame rate than graphics. Sure GT5P looks pretty but it has severe slowdown problems.

I'll believe it looks like that at 60FPS when I see it on my PS3 and not before. I pretty much hate Forza, I think it's sterile and boring and at best has decent physics in a ridiculously bland environment but I do know what they were going for and they pulled it off in 2 and 3's demo (I haven't played the full game). GT5 is still smoke and mirros until next year, if they actually manage to hit the release date this time.

Well, the pics I've seen of GT5 look amazing. But, I'm not buying a PS3 just for the privelage of playing it.
And, I agree with Magnum that any high-end PC will display NFS:Shift better than the 360 will. Although, even on the 360, Shift looked excellent. I just hated the gameplay.
What resolution does the PS3 play games at compared to the 360? Just curious.
I have noticed an ocassional hiccup (lag) while playing Forza3 when something like an Achievement notice pops up. It's irritating but not a show-stopper.
I've got a new PC on the way, I'll keep NFS:Shift in mind for the mods. If they can fix the awful AI and questionable physics it might be worth looking into again. But I can pretty much satisfy all my racing needs on the PC with rFactor, even though it's starting to show it's age.

Most games are 720p native like the 360. GT5P is 1080p though I believe, I run it at 720p since that is my TV's native res and it looks great but it has some pretty severe slowdown in a pack of cars and on certain points in the tracks.
To me they are both pretty much the same game, comparing them is like comparing an orange and another orange. They both have nice car porn, good physics, bland environments/tracks and bad freight train AI. Forza has damage but GT5 is supposed to get some sort of damage.

I have to say I prefer Forza. Just being able to custom paint the cars is huge, and the screen/video upload options are great. Aside from the gameplay and such.
Regardless, Shar82, why don't you start your own thread instead of sabotaging Magnums'?
In my opinion you are behaving very immaturely. Let Magnum have his own thread, he obviously worked hard to bring us his own screens, rather than posting the same old screens of that same 4 year old red F1 car image in a resolution GT5 has no hope of displaying anyway.

Great screens Magnum!
They really nailed the feel, this game had me grinning last night. The cockpit view just feels right, and the force feedback seems to be dialed in very well.
The tracks are beautiful, much improved over FM2. Maple Valley is gorgeous. I think if someone thinks the game is lacking graphically, they've yet to see it on a calibrated, worthy HD set of decent size. At 720p DLP projection 96" screen from 12', the game looks absolutely awesome.
After a handful of hours: Driver Level 7 all settings maxed except no clutch and medium AI, using FF wheel Not seen all the track environments yet 2.3% through the career have used all stock tunes! I haven't even tried tuning yet - the stock cars are much more realistic and drivable. bought some vinyl groups bought some cars off auction bought some full designs, one terrific racing livery for 10k! put up a car for auction played with the paint editor watched replay videos/checked out photos have run a few private races with a friend made about 350k credits
and I feel like I haven't scratched the surface yet. I enjoy every aspect of it. I don't know whether to race or buy/sell or paint. I keep switching back and forth, and still have yet to tune anything. I also need to put the DLC in and check that out. I have 3 different DLC cards (for 10-20+ cars?), plus T10 is sending some add'l ones for pre-ordering.
I intentionally didn't watch/read a lot or hype up for this game, and I feel like a kid at Christmas. Hope it doesn't wear off soon.

I'd also like to throw another vote for not crapping up this thread with vapor-games. When the title finally comes out, it should warrant its own thread(s) and obvious comparisons of actual playable (solid framerate) code.

@Joe-Stalin: no need to be rude here, I didn't know that threads are the sole property of hi/her owner in a FORUM (which means "A PLACE FOR DISCUSSIONS" by the way ;-) )... I gave my own opinion based on his screenshots and building my case with some exemples. "sabotaging" is really making a big fuss about nothing if you ask me. By the way, free to Magnum to resume this thread with new materials... :-)

360 has it bang on. They've managed to add more fun and increase realism at the same time. I'm enjoying getting a chance to drive all the cars i've seen on Top Gear excellent game.
