Hi all. I just picked up ArmA II over the weekend. I've remapped the keys to accomodate my leftiness but i've found that I cannot steer the parachute in the tutorial no matter what I map the keys to. Nor can I control it with the mouse or joystick. I've patched to 1.04. What am I missing? Thanks.

Just Cause has steerable parachutes.

As I recall, there are 2 types of parachutes in Arma. One is steerable, one isn't. To steer it you just use the same keys you do to move yourself around on the ground.

Yep, the steerable chute is done with WASD as I recall. Works pretty well, we have a HALO insert mission on the server where we drop from a V-22 and steer to assigned landing areas.

If I'm not mistaken, one of the training missions is about how to steer/land a chute.

Taught me well!

As I indicated earlier, I remapped the movement keys as I'm a lefty. I use NUM 2,4,6, and 8 but I cannot get the damned chute to move with the keys, the mouse, or my joystick. I tried remapping the movement keys to various alternate settings, but nothing seems to work.

Bloody annoying!

It could be that the parachute is considered a vehicle. Did you re-map those keys?

Yup, remapped all movement keys to numpad and all vehicle keys to joystick, even seagull controls to stick. I can contol my movement during the freefall portion of the tutorial, but as soon as the chute is deployed, I can no longer control things. I can hop between first and third person view and look around with the mouse or TrackIR, but can't steer.
