I am going to do a clean install of 1l2, patch to 4.08, then 409m beta. Then do the UI 1.2

Before I do all this I want to make sure I backup any files I should as I went to all the work of intalling CannonUK's English Channel.

Any suggestions on what files to back up would be helpful.

Easiest way - copy the whole friggin' thing!

Seriously, if you have the disk space, make a complete copy and then rename it to something else.

On my system I have an "IL-2 1946" directory and an "IL-2 MOD" directory. If I break one of them, the other is there to save my bacon.

Bonus: since IL-2: 1946 doesn't rely on registry entries to run, the il2fb.exe works in both of them!
