The 1.28C exe contains the JIM code. The 7217 "fix" was already in 1.28b, so the 7217 error should not occur. However, the screen tearing problem remains, but a victim can now set up the parameters with the new JIM, launch 1.28C, ignore the garbled screen, and hit Ctrl-Q to start their mission. A couple of clicks on Esc will get them out when they quit the flight, although an Alt_Q is even better.
I rewrote much of the JIM utility to make it really easy for the user.
I will be supplying a JIM installation with folders containing the seven files JIM needs for Default EAW, SAW, DAW and SPAW, so you just pick your scenario.

HOORAY!!

I have been checking this site frequently, especially after 1400hrs (PST) to learn of any 1.28c news. Great work! Everything is proposed to be compatible, even accessible, with everything. I look very much forward to such constructive and comprehensive work that will not endanger, but enhance, my "hard fought" EAW installation and setup. No invitational research projects either to see if I have attempted suicide by certain means and survived.

You can run it, but will not be able to fly for a couple of days because you will need 1.28c for which the release is imminent.

With JIM you can set up missions in ETO, DAW, SAW and SPAW, but with 1.28C you will only be able to fly ETO.
SPAW is also very close to release, and when you get it you can fly SPAW missions too
In the meantime I will upload my custom CDFs and additional files for SAW and DAW, so that within a week or too all will be available.

You do not have to be a 7217/screentearing victim to use this software, and for single missions people with the map screen problem might be better off using JIM instead
