In order to start with some measurments, I had to start somewhere. Here is the joystick mod with a couple of temporary boxes to check for comfortable distances. You have to fly awhile and with all types of games to see if it works. Its just a start. I especially like the stick mod. I had a longer one but the throw was too much. this seems pretty close.
Mod was pretty straightforward until it required lengthening the wiring to the handle. I chickened out due to the small size and short length, so I sent it off to a friend. Its quite perfect.
The pit will be a transformation from the old 4 monitor pit to a projector with TrackIR. I have the projector setup at the moment with an office chair and TV table for keyboard and mouse. I went to the junkyard a few weeks ago and got a nice bucket seat for $26.00 so more pics to come in the next month or so.
Feel free to ask q's or make comments and suggestions.
Thanks,
GLB

Looking cool can't wait to see more progress. How does the modded stick feel?

Takes a bit of getting used to as there is more throw when you swing the stick around. Its a REAL yank and bank deal now. I quite like it. Seems more realistic to me although I have never flown any real plane with a stick. Don't really have anything to go by except the logic of it. The sensitivity of twitchyness goes away with the length. Its probably 7" forward and 7" back worth of stick travel.
Its worth a go with a cheap stick from ebay.
