From the readme:
Download FULL 4.09 skins.
Olegs team released a lot of new default skins just after 4.09bm last year for many aircraft. This fb_3do20.sfs file
has not been re-included in Full 4.09 either, but it is really worth it and is completely compatible (with either HSFX
or 4.09):-

I imagine that Charlie was expecting 4.09 to come with skins integrated, and when it didn't this was the easiest option.
Or are the default 4.09 skins actually newer than the download? I'm getting confused now. dizzy

Yes, this has been noted. Both Mk1 and MkI folders are present; for now simply delete Mk1.

cheers

Regarding the New default skins I am referring to the ones that were released with 4.09M not the previous ones for 4.09b1M.

The file date for the last (4.09M default skins) was 1/10/09 I have no idea how the HSFX file system works but I presume the fb_hfx3do20.sfs overrides the stock sfs file. I think these newer skins need to be integrated into the fb_hfx3do20.sfs. At present I think this file gas the older 4.09

I see that this mod includes Canon's new Channel maps. Does it also have all of the separate mods needed to make it work? I remember trying to add all of that stuff to a UI installation and there was alot of cutting and pasting of text to do. smile

Anyway I applied the fix and all is fine smile.

Just one Q though. Does this affect CRT=2 ???

regards

HaJa, I'm an off-liner, so I'm ashamed to say I didn't even know what CRT=2 referred to until about a week ago. The on-liners here might be able to answer that question though.

Another thought I had was that since you're the first one posting this problem with HSFX, you might want to check the hash sums, in case one of your downloads was corrupted. AFAIK, the Russian language fix should be in HSFX. I haven't installed it yet (I'm still making a backup file of 4.09m, with my eight years of skins...only 1/2 hour to go over the SATAII bus...).

-Hi all, how are you? i hope fine. (sorry for my bad english)

-My Squad and I made some testing with the new mod. We found 2 issues.

-The Focke wulf A-4 shows mixture smoke problems online. The problem starts at 0 mts and up to top ceiling, the player who uses the focke wulf can't see the smoke but the others players can (modded and un modded).

-Second, In several servers we got connections but inmediately disconnected with "Timeout 0".

thanks for your bug reports, we are aware that there is a problem with memory leak on the coop_dedicated servers. CRT=2 will still work normally if you just start the server (coop, df) but if the server is empty for longer periods of time (as in 102nd_COOP_ded) CRT protection will fail even for perfectly good installs..., this will be sorted in first HSFX patch....

Charlie will be back soon; he'll know for sure.

Yes, Canon's maps work 'out of the box', no need to add anything else. There is one difference between them and the stock version though. I corrected all of the water anomalies, for use by Gilb57 in his four seasons maps. So you might notice a few cosmetic differences, but nothing important has changed, missions will play out exactly the same on both.

cheers

Wonderful work! I got to fly a Canon map-based mission and it worked beautifully, out of the box! JSGME and sfs file system is the way to go.

I just flew some Canon Channel map missions using the HSFX reccomended settings of 22khz sound and S3TC texture compression . . . it flew smoothly. I'm sure experiences will vary, but so far I am impressed. smile
