Sure the Simbin games are getting dated, but like I mentioned before I love US Muscle cars, and I love these 2 new US tracks... I play them in all my racing games... Laguna Seca and Road America.

So heres some screens from the just released Race On, another add-on for the great Race 07:

Is this an add-on for Race 07 or a stand-alone game?

I liked Race 07 but I like rFactor much more. I thought the load times in Race 07 were excessive.

Seriously, Magnum, I can't understand why you continue to buy these games while not giving rFactor a try. IMHO it's superior to Race 07 or GTR2. You're long overdue for buying it. The download and setup is easy and there are a thousand mods/cars/tracks/series you can download for free.

Believe it's an add on to '07 Lee', sure is bright compared to Race Pro, wow!

Of course Leemz, you've just set yourself up for the classic Magnum Redirect 'If you'd actually read the post you'd know.' which he's often dolled out to unsuspecting non-readers. lol biggrin

It's Race 07 (Including the STCC addon only previously available in Scandanavia or on steam), plus all the new stuff as a standalone product, updated with the latest seasons data, etc sold at low price.

At Amazon.com it's currently retailing for $25.49

Link to the RACE website (with demo):-

http://www.race-game.org/raceon/index.htm

And having tried the demo, those US muscle cars rock. smile

And Magnum's right, Laguna Seca and Road America are two of the best circuits inthe world, imo. Gotta love the corkscrew!

Not coming out in the UK for a while yet. Will be buying it when it does.

Judging from the menu screen shot it doesn't look like it includes FIA GT series from GTR Evo. So if users of GTR Evo wants to use the new muscle cars, they have to have two installations of Race 07 (GTR Evo + Race on)?

Yeah, well spotted Zorg. I 've just checked the website and this page more accurately describes what is contained :-

http://www.race-game.org/raceon/carsandtracks.htm

Which amounts to RACE 07, STCC plus all the new stuff listed. IIRC GTR:Evolution had an option to merge with previous instalations so maybe this will too.

It's a pretty good deal for the price of an addon. And sliding that American muscle around those tracks is great fun. The demo has one of the US cars, a Dodge Challenger. 2 cars, 2 tracks in all.

I will now edit my earlier post.

It looks like you can buy in Europe already via Steam for EUR25 for the expansion, EUR30 standalone (ex EVO).

Even thou it was advertised as a "stand alone" add-on... when I went to play it it made me re-install Race 07 first... so it's not a stand a lone it's a add on to Race 07.

So I have everything Simbin has released via Steam now...

and I have rFactor, never did like it much... and i don't race a lot on PC... I've joined Panzer and Jedi a couple of times in Race 07, but thats about it... most of my racing is on the console.

Thanks for posting the screens. Those muscle cars look like thye'd be a blast to race, but I have to agree with others that the engine is really showing it's age, especially when put next to iRacing and Forza 3 (I'm really looking forward to that one.)

For the price this is probably not a bad purchase, but I'm really hoping they move on to a new engine after this; it seems as though Simbin at this point might just be 2 artists and a physics guy cranking away on a 5 year old engine.

Simbin must create a NEW graphic engine, directx9 is really really outdated... they are spot on on the physics area but very far back when speaking graphics: please do a NEW updated graphic engine OR buy it from SMS!
