Guys this question is for rotor heads only so - people who like helicopter sims.

With the slew of new hotas been deployed or about to be deployed what type of stick is best suited for BS or any other Helicopter sim.
FFB or FS?

logitech =FFB

Saitek = FS and soon the Thrustmaster Hotas which I think may be FS could be wrong.

Which would you go for and why yes I know that the two FS Hotas have not hit the streets yet but just give me some feeb back as to which and why.

Its really a personal pref. I guess. Some will say CH, others Saitek and so on. Best to think of what you look for in a HOTAS and find one that meets those specs.

Two cents. Whatever you get, be sure and get pedals. Helo sims without pedals is not nearly as much fun.

I already have Saitek X52 PRO, Saitek Flight Rudder Pedals, TrackIR Pro ver 4.

Yep, although that's how trim works in pretty much all helicopters, so I'm hoping we'll see more of it in the future.

If you can get hold of a Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 you should be doing fine.
I use it because of BS control and trim system. It`s got rudder by twisting the stick and it works great.
Ì have CH HOTAS also, but I prefer FF2 for BS. I even bought a spare one because they`re hard to find over here.

Heh, nothing changed with the tech rapid.
Only thing is FF2 is way better than other force feedback in the market.
The response and feel of FF2 is far better than the competition.

I was told that the only FFB you will receive via a FFB stick is better trim function all other tactile feeling will not be present.
You are correct about Microsoft they did make a better FFB stick but in regards to a new HOTAS set up you have to be looking to the new genaration that are out right now.
Logitech have the latest FFB HOTAS out right now. Saitek and TM looks like they will be going over to Force Sensing.
The G940 will give you better trim and thats it no other sensation. As for FS Helicopters dont have force sensing cyclics.
So my point here is which way will people be going on this.

Well for my two cents I am using microsoft sidewinder ; Ch gameport pedals (Plugged into my old Soundblaster) ; And a wiimote as my collective in conjunction with PPJoy and glovepie.

is anyone here using the new Logitech setup with Black Shark? I'm looking to replace my dying/flaky X45 setup and I'm thinking either the Logitech or a CH setup.

I should have my Logitech G940 delivered today, will be testing/playing with it over the next few days.

What is the difference between FFB and FS? I mean, what happens in game? What is the difference in what your hands feel?

FFB = Force FEED Back if the game supports it you will feel movement as you turn stall ect....

FS = Force Sensing = stick does not really move at all although very slightly, you feel no sensation at all, the stick will sense the pressure that you apply to it and will transer that pressure into movement for your aircraft.

For BS with its dynamic trim system I'd go with FF, my MSFF2 works great with BS and the new Rise of Flight WW1 sim.

This will surprise many of you...
