The Area J I know is a training area at Ft Bragg. Seems to go along with the canopy (parachute) lights.

I hated running back there on them deep sandy roads...

Now hears a hammer and some chalk... Go check that M113 for soft spots...

Dang... Dart had that one covered...

I used to send my newbies to the 1SG to get their train ticket during their first railhead.

LOL, Omega, I got caught with that, actually.

In my defense, we were in hour 48 of field recovery which had somehow been married to Q4 services and I came to precisely one and a half circles down the track.

Not that it matters - the first blow of the hammer = fell for it, hook, line, and sinker.

I got in trouble for all the pranks being pulled once, though. One of my NCO's sent me to the arms room to see if he had any ammo for the grease guns. I shammed out for an hour instead, thinking it was a joke.

Uh, no. The unit still had a few M3's in the rack, and he was going to take us to the range and fire them before someone woke up to it and had them removed. Baumholder was fun - Jeeps and Gamma Goats in the motor pool, M3's on the end of the row of M16A1's in the arms room, M60's on the tank line, supported by M113's carrying Infantry....and it was 1987-8!

Yep, out behind the parachute rigging tower. I don't remember it having a gate, though. The way I always heard it wa "the keys to the impact area."

How about chemlite batteries, and "BA 1100 Novembers."
