Maybe I will need to get a older drivers? I used my old and altar glorified original EAW Microprose CD with the same results, cleaning the registry and all the rest. The strange thing is that without the latest exe the screen looks a lot more garbled than with the test exe...
Anyone know If is there a shortcut that let me enter the single mission screen? Maybe is a problem with the main screen only.

Do we still need to have Patch 1.28a and b install before we install 1.28c or do just install it over a new origial EAW installed.

It has not been finally decided, but all indications are that a 1.2 to 1.28C patch will be released as a number of files in CDFs have been changed.

did you copy paste the contents from the CD to your HD or did you make a real install again??

Other graphic drivers might work, worth a test.

The shortcuts are:

ctrl s = singlemission
ctrl q = quickmission
ctrl p = pilot career
ctrl c = configure
esc = exit

Nothing, game screens are all garbled, the game CTD as soon as the loading is complete. Any idea of which drivers should I try?

could you please set the EAW.ini Width and Height value to 800 and 600 and try to play the game again.

It shouldnt crash then!!

If it still crash something with the update went wrong(missing or wrong sized files).

Ingame graphics must work, they have nothing to do with the 7217 error!!

Stratos:
I am running XP home SP3. I did have to install the game from the CD.
I then could just copy and paste the rest of the patches. I installed them to a different folder.
My brother,however is running XP Pro SP2. He had to install the game and everyone of the patches to get them to work.
I did find out that I had problems with the Data.cdf from 1.28B patch. I took data.cdf from 1.28 patch and game worked. I don't know what the difference is,but it works.
There are a lot of different combination to try. Don't give up you'll find the right combination for your computer. It seem like some are more cantankerous than others.
