Make sure that you set your preference to allow for the largest pictures to upload.
In the free account that is a 1 megabyte file size.
Under the "upload images and videos" button there should be a small link that says "more options."
Click on it and you can change the setting to the largest size your type of account allows.

Zooomr is a good hosting service that's free and has different size codes for using. I have used them before and they are reliable and free.
