I've seen several posts over the internet about how Falcon refuses to apply anti-aliasing settings even when set in the Nvidia control panel (don't know if the problem is Nvidia or Falcon...)

Anywhoo, if you force AA in the Global settings menu of the control panel and start the game, the settings should stick. You can then go back, create a custom profile for F4 with the right AA settings, and reset global settings to whatever you want.

Maybe a mod could sticky that little trick. Many people ask about this curious bug, but personally it took me awhile to find the answer.

I recall a warning from FF5 about not pushing one of the sliders too far but, I can't recall which one it was. Does it matter in AF? Anyone remember?

I imagine it would be the bubble setting, but I don't remember if AF has that setting in the options too.

Good timing on this topic. I have just finished a new build i7 920, GTX260 w sli, Win Vista 32, 3 g memory.

I used the settings above in game and in the NVIDA control panel. Getting pretty good results. High frame rates and no real swizzles.

I am, however getting some banding in the sky low above the horizon where it graduates into the broader sky, some odd textures on the plane (look like dark grey patches), and runway does not seem like it is textured right. Almost like the bit depth is not right.

Tried to post some screenshots but not sure how to do this.

okay, figured it out. The bit depth was not right. I added the -hires and was able to get to 32bit versions and works fine now
