The current cars are unique to put it mildly. They have a very strange (unstable) feel to them. Even straight line braking with no downshifts the back end kicks out almost uncontrollably.
I agree.
I got a chance to drive a few laps on Wed and found the car to be close to undriveable. As Birdski says, the rear can snap oversteer uncontrollably in all regimes: high speed, low speed, straight line braking, trail-braking, etc. Whats more, the car behaves quite the opposite during cornering, acting more like a heavy, underpowered FWD/FE setup with heavy understeer irrespective of throttle on or off input. Needless to say, throttle or brake steering is out of the question.
On the rare occasion when I was able to arrest a snapping tail, the understeer kicked in (almost as if it were scripted) mid-correction, resulting in an almost comical, slow-motion, four-wheel drift. Unnatural, and wholly unsettling.
An unpleasant car to drive indeed.
