I'd be interested in anyone who has got these two apps to run in multi monitor mode using the Softh software. Please state which versions you are using.

I don't know if it would be possible for JF-15, since it requires a resolution of 1920x480.

JF-18 offers 1920x480 with the use of TSH v4. The game is vert- so everything is really zoomed in with the default view. However, the widescreen cockpit helps a lot. Unfortunately the widescreen cockpit and the FLIR don't play nicely together. In JF-15 there is no widescreen option, so you would be stuck with the very narrow FOV even if you get 1920x480 working.

I have a TripleHead2Go and prefer to play JF-18 in single sreen.

Joe,

What combat flight sims work best with TripleHead2Go? I've never actually seen it in use.

Black Shark is probably the best, since you can customize the viewing parameters so much with the .lua files. For lighter fare all of the Strike Fighter series have good triplehead support.

Getting back in history a bit, IL-2 works decently (but not great), and Rise of Flight shipped with an unsupported triplehead field of view that was supposed to be fixed in a patch; I don't know if it ever happened.

Well on the Triplehead2go website they list all the sims that work well. lockon and strikefighters are in there wink

To Joe what would be needed to get the FOV changed in F-18?? I know they have done this with other games a hack or mod if you will to get some games to work with TH2Go.. Also I use the SWView pit would that look ok or is it similar to the widescreen pit with TH2Go??

I would like to get a 3 projector setup I currently have 2 projectors need 1 more but the lack of flight sims that work with the TH2Go is a dealbreaker for me??

Unfortunately that website is not entirely accurate. Lock On has FOV problems stemming from limitations in the game engine. These were fixed in Black Shark.

The view acheived with the SWView command is the widescreen view.

It depends what you play; there are many flight sims that work well and many that don't, since so many of our favorite titles are based on older engines.

Lock On features a dynamic view zoom control; it can be assigned to an analogue axis or controlled via TrackIR. It is thus possible to make it almost good enough. The real test, however, is if there is no vertical information lost when moving from a single-screen to a triplehead resolution. In the case of Lock On such a thing has not been proven to be possible.

If you have TrackIR the lost information is not too noticeable. However, there is a bug in Lock On that hurts performance at large FOV angles, so when you zoom out all of the way to see everything the framerates can drop.

It's just hex editing. There are already a number of FOV mods out there for widescreen that tweak the FOV from the default value set for 4:3 resolutions. It would be possible to create one for triplehead, but the TSH widescreen cockpit does a good job. The problem with all of these FOV adjsutments is that they behave oddly when using the FLIR (which is a very important tool in JF-18). The wider the FOV the more the HUD symbology bleeds over the glass, too.
