That looks metal. Ladies and gentlemen, it looks like we have a competition brewing!

Thanks for posting the link Sokol1.

Price seems way out of line for Saitek to stay competitive. Will stay with my old reliable X45s with ChProducts rudder pedals that have done well for me for a number of years........... for now. But still has my interest up for further developments and a better price.

It does look quite remarkable. Unfortunately, it also looks to be rather expensive.

I don't think those pics are renders. Could be wrong though. I'm not an expert in digital photography.

One thing I'm worried about actually is that it looks like they may have taken the call for rotaries a little too seriously. Love the hats on the front portion of the throttle, but it looks like in addition to the top rotary there are a whole bunch of other rotaries. There is definitely one on the outboard which is great, but I think there may actually be an additional 4 rotaries on the inboard edge. Now the black one on the side I can see - but if those 3 small silver ones are rotaries as well, then I think that might very well be overkill. I would rather they be hats. Time will tell and I could be wrong - I hope I'm wrong.

Looks very cool though. More fighter plane and less TIE fighter which always bothered me about their hotas in the past.

Well, zooming in on the picture shows what appears to be a mouse icon on the rear-most silver one (Under the black "D" button). So that would appear to be a mini-stick (Saitek's previous models have mouse drivers for the mini-stick). Based on previous designs from them, I seriously doubt that the other two silver items are rotaries (too small). With the X-52, they had the button that corresponds to a left mouse click located right next to the mini-stick. I'd guess that those are buttons, and that at least one of them can be a mouse button. It wouldn't surprise me if those could be left and right click mouse buttons. I'd also expect that in keeping with Saitek's existing practices in the SST software, that they could be used as buttons with other functions.

Very interesting, although I have really no interest if it is indeed a force-sensing stick with little to no movement ala F-16.

Does it look like the switch panel is installed with the screws in each corner, and there's room for another panel next to it?

It's also different from the panel in this shot:

As for pricing, let's just take a deep breath and think back to the early nineties for a sec, I don't remember if these prices are accurate but I do recall spending hundreds on the old DOS TM controllers which did NOT come bundled together.

Why it's called X65 on one picture and X65F on the other?
F = Force?
