Hi Guys

I just bought Enemy Engaged 2 and cannot get it to run. I never have problems running any of my flight/sims but this one gives me an error message:

EE2.EXE Encountered A Problem And Must Close

I have: Pentium 2.0, 512 MB Ram, 120 Gig HD, ATI 8500

I d/l and installed patch 1.10.

Any suggestions? I love flying combat planes and helos. Thank you

Betty

Hi, You have the wrong patch that one is for EECH 1 you need the patch for EE2 and there are 2 different ones. they are from Strategy First and the other from G2 , I beleive it is 1.0.2.. Just check to see who made your Copy of EE2 and go get the correct patch

I installed the patch from Strategy First. Still received the same "ee2.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close". I uninstalled the game and the patch, rebooted the computer, reinstalled the game and patch and still the same situation.

I have the version of the game that asks for the serial # before it will run. Any other suggestions. Thanks

If you have the version that requires a serial then you have the Strategy First version and thats the patch you require.

1. Locate your "game.cfg" file in the C:\Enemy Engaged 2\cohokum folder and delete it. If its not there, then your game hasnt passed the GFX test it runs on first boot. If this happens please post your system spec.

2. Once you have deleted the "game.cfg" file, locate the ee2 video folder C:\Enemy Engaged 2\cohokum\video and delete or move the contents of the video folder. Dont delete the folder itself, just the video files. The video codec used by the G2 modders caused much grief I think.

3. Read the "EE2 Patch problem" sticky thread above. Ive posted an EE2 Q&A Troubleshooting giude in it.

4. Run the game and let us know how you go smile

There was no "game.cfg" file there anywhere. I did delete the video files in that folder, but still the problem persists.

I have: Pentium 2.0 SP3, 512 MB Ram, 120 Gig HD, ATI 8500

I am ready to give up. HELP ME PLEASE.

May be a failure to initialize the speech engine.
What Windows version?

If there is no game.cfg then your system hasnt passed the GFX test. Also you barely have enough ram to run XP in a healthy state. Your system spec is too low for EE2 anyhow I think. Even if you could get it to run you would experiance slide show GFX, when passing over cities, and also when flir is active.

My Advice- Download EECH1 for around $6us, then install the Full mod pack, and put EE2 back into the box until you upgrade your hardware.

Regards EE2 system spec - In my view the minimum requirements for EE2 are grossly understated.

Windows XP HOme Edition Version 2002 SP3. I tried it on my laptop which has the following specs:

Pentium 4 3.0 Ghz
512 Ram
XP SP3

And the same thing happened. Maybe if I had abut 1 gig ram????

EE2 certainly runs on a P4 3ghz. You will certainly need to upgrade to 1gb of ram. Laptops used integrated GFX usually with shared ram as well which wont help. What type of GFX chip is on your laptop?

Seriously though buddy EECH1 is a much better choice for your hardware. EECH1 also has more refined pits, more campaign options etc.
