Sorry my American friends, but the Brits have the best comedians ever
Benny Hill has too much classic stuff to start posting it all, but I just came across this vid, I hadn't seen it in years. His facial expressions are priceless

I thought Benny Hill was classic comedy. Sometimes I couldn't understand the fast "English", but it was always funny.

Never that impressed with his comedy.
Peter Sellers and Monty Python win hands down.
If you shoot onto IMDB, and look at the FAQ's for Dr Strangelove, there is an awesome scene in there:
George C Scott turns around to one of his aides and says:
"Strangelove, goddamn kraut rocket scientists dream up their own names. What is his name anyway?" His aide then proceeds to rattle off a German name (fairly complex, can't remember it sorry) But the word in German actually means 'Strangelove'.
They just can't do 'em like that any more!

Peter Sellers is another one of my favourites! The name in German is "Merkwürdichliebe", a direct translation of Strangelove. Hilarious film

I liked Benny Hill quite a lot when I was a kid but he really shouldn't be compared directly with Monty Python becuase IMHO their content and styles are so different. Benny Hill had more of a slapstick style while Monty Python's style was very political/intellectual.

I always laughed my arse off at his German parodies.
Sind Sie all sitting comfortablich?

I never got Benny Hill, it only ever seemed like endless variations of one tits and ass joke to me, and that was the kind of thing you dream up with your mates when you're about 12...and that stupid chase scene where it was sped up with his signature music...jeez!

My problem is I can't understand half of what he says.

meh...never a fan. compared to the likes of monty python, he just doesn't measure up.
Two totally different types of comedy, it's like comparing Seinfeld to Richard Pryor.

I always enjoyed Benny Hill, somehow it was always aired here either just before or just after the evenng news, it made you look differently at the world... Also being dansih I do think keeping up with the british humour is fairly easy.

Anyone remember these guys? They seemed to be sort of a cross between Benny Hill & Monty Python to me.
