I used Masaq's profile after uninstalling the 4 drivers and installing the 5 drivers, No profile seemed to help with the view flicking around or locking up

It's very unstable and centreing TIR5 locks the view to the sun or something Smile2

Is anyone else having this problem of running TIR5 with the latest 5 drivers please? Where all seems ok at first and then after looking around, the view locks at some strange angle and refuses to re-centre

I've checked that there are no static or dynamic heat sources or reflections of heat sources nearby, in the Tracking panel the view centres normally. Nothing about this at the naturalpoint forums I'm getting desperate

It was the same when I got the 5 version and installed the 5 drivers, I've been running the 4 drivers and just the dot which worked after a fashion. I'm not thinking it's faulty TIR kit because in the Tracking display it seems to work ok

On trying to uninstall the 5 drivers, that's a hassle too. I've tried all the available motherboard-powered USB ports

Hmm thinking on it, with the 4 drivers installed and TIR running, the TIR icon hasn't been showing in the Taskbar lately

Concentrating on things really helps ok fair enough Smile2

Bought an Afrika Korps (style, Kangol) cap on the way home and fitted the clip on that, crikey what a difference the best immersion so far

The Naturalpoint cap I've been using has the single stitched on dot. The software has the dot greyed out and I trusted that indicator, but with the clip fitted to a standard cap peak it's another world. But I could be back I trust nothing in the short term Smile2

It's very good in there isn't it, let the cross-map adventure begin

Thank you oh God of flight-sims, yes the harder we work the luckier we get

Hi Ming

I just posted about my experience with TIR and this patch. After I posted it, I thought; Hey, I should have put this in the Technical Support board and came here to see if anyone had posted already.

Not really related to my post, but I'm really glad to hear you are getting things worked out.
I'm on TIR 4 with the 4.1 build 36 software. I am using the clip that goes on a baseball cap. I'm sure my problem had nothing to do with that though. I'm using the same everything I have been using since I got TIR4.

Anyway, it just started working really good for me since I patched the game yesterday. Strange, but I'll take it.

Need a wingman on your cross-map adventure? pilot

I'm not using TIR 5 but I was having similar problems with TIR 4.(latest build) until I unchecked "TrueView". Made a world of difference.

Same yes mate. My wife bought me some 'Carpet Thread' and I stitched the clip down to the peak of the cap. With a little help Smile2 (It was always springing around the place on trying to hang the cap up)

Need a wingman on your cross-map adventure?

Of course TailFlamer!

Shall I prepare a mission. Hmm nowhere to refuel this will require some planning. No using map icons mind, say Metz to Rheims.

Last time we did this in Il-2 we ended up in Sweden Smile2

But not up top right there is nowhere to land if you run out of petrol! It's a jungle up there Smile2 (massive forests)

Thanks Smokin, my setup is ok with TrueView checked but that's one for my checklist for next time it all goes wrong <rosary beads>

Yeah mate, I would fly the trip. Hopefully some others would join us.
I have only now really begun to play it. You know I had the th2go/fov problem, so I didn't play it. Then TIR was screwy for me, so I gave up and figured it will be fixed sometime. Heck I waited a long time for the game, a bit more time wasn't bothering me. Many other things to do in the meantime.
Now I don't have any real problems at all with it and able to really enjoy playing.
I'm still trying to find a favorite plane, currently.

I'm a terrible shot, so I never really play online with flight sims.
I normally have to allow myself one arcade feature, unlimited ammo. I haven't spent any real time in combat yet. Only shot down one plane in the balloon attack mission. I ran from them other times. I can not hit anything on the ground, unless I happen to get a lucky shot in.
Doubt I would ever get a plane with true ammo load. I really do stink that bad, lol.

If you put together a mission I would give it a try and see how it goes.
Don't expect much cover though.

Ming,

Hope you've solved it.

Did you see my final post on page 3 of the "Re: TrackIR and Latest Patch" thread?

I got caught and felt a little em-barr-assed when I discovered that my TrackIR Pro on my headset was the culprit for all my TrackIR woes. Canting the headset forward a bit brought everything into proper alignment and this was after many previous checks for proper centering on the TIR Heads-Up screen which always showed good centering. Apparently, in spite of the centering showing as ok, my heads-up movement was still 'on the edge' because of the headset position.

It now works like a charm with no problems!

Good Luck! thumbsup

I'm the same TF, there's no rush for me to get out there and destroy everything that moves: there's lots to explore and study up. Extended training period Smile2

Yep Jimko it's been a long road but sunny upland pastures in sight Smile2
